Description:
This is a wonderfully detailed and highly amusing Romano-Egyptian terracotta, showing the god Pan leaning on an amphora with his left arm, with a jar resting on his left shoulder and a bunch of grapes in his right hand. The god has a wrinkled face; his goat's horns are visible above a wreath. His pot belly is accentuated by his close-fitting tunic.
But the most remarkable detail is his penis which is as long as his goat's legs and which appears to be scraping on the ground on which the god walks.
On an integral base. Most likely from Alexandria.
